ZIMMERMANN, the quintessentially Australian fashion label,  is continuing its retail expansion in the U.S. with the opening of a new retail location in Houston. The new store – which is the second Texas-based store for the brand – is set to open on June 28, 2022, in Houston’s River Oaks District.

Sisters Nicky and Simone Zimmermann founded their namesake brand in Sydney in 1991. Early in its evolution, ZIMMERMANN took the bold step of fusing fashion with swimwear and presented it to the world. It soon found its footing with the fashion elite. ZIMMERMANN’s bold original prints, beautifully made one-pieces and sculptural bikinis create a new point of reference in flattering, sexy, and stylish swimwear. While the swimsuit thrust ZIMMERMANN on to the international stage, it has been its optimistic, feminine, and consistently desirable collections across its ready-to-wear and resorts that has propelled the brand to greater global appeal.

Demand from a growing fanbase of international clients has seen the opening of ZIMMERMANN stores in the United States. In 2011, ZIMMERMANN opened its first U.S. store on Robertson Boulevard, Beverly Hills California. The brand now has 15 stores in the U.S. in locations including Manhattan, East Hampton, Miami, San Francisco, Pacific Palisades and Dallas. The Houston boutique will be the sixteenth store in the country.

“So many women from Houston have shopped with us in our other stores, and when the opportunity to open at River Oaks District came along, the timing just felt right. I think the Houston woman likes to have fun dressing and has an eye for the unexpected, which is very much at the heart of our brand. There is no better way to immerse someone in the world of ZIMMERMANN than to have them step into one of our stores — they are just such an embodiment of the brand, so we are really excited to welcome people there and hope they have a unique and enjoyable experience.” said Nicky Zimmermann, Co-Founder & Creative Director.

The Houston store location is a physical embodiment of the brand’s relaxed femininity and will sport an air of freshness, light, and unyielding optimism. The storefront will be made from a textured render that will be finished in an emphatic shade of green that has become synonymous with the brand’s aesthetic, and the interior of the bright and airy space will feature an eclectic mix of Australian artwork including paintings by Australian artist Bridie Gilman and vintage furniture such as a 90s Noguchi floor lamp.

River Oaks District is an evolving concentration of internationally celebrated luxury brands, exceptional culinary experiences, innovative boutiques, art galleries and more. The District is Houston’s most distinct open-air gathering place for community events, art installations and activations, influenced by Houstonian’s unique culture and lifestyle. The District is home to over 60 sought-after global brands, including Dior, Hermes, Cartier, Van Cleef, Harry Winston, Patek Philippe, Dolce & Gabbana, Brunello Cucinelli, Etro, Moreau, Assouline, Intermix, Alice + Olivia, Zadig & Voltaire, Veronica Beard, Saint Bernard among others.  We are also a dining and cultural destination filled with some of the city’s finest epicurean restaurants, artisan food, art galleries, and nightlife including Steak 48, MAD, Loch Bar, Toulouse, Le Colonial, Ouzo Bay, Bisou, Laura Rathe Fine Art and Amorino. Within the District, IPIC Theaters, Equinox, Grey House luxury apartments and the US Capital Office building compliment the pedestrian environment. ZIMMERMANN will be located at Space B-110, River Oaks District, 4444 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX 77027.

“We are excited to have ZIMMERMANN open at The District and to bring this-iconic Australian luxury brand to Houston and have no doubt Houstonians will embrace the brand’s chic and modern aesthetic,” said Festival Companies CEO Rosalind Schurgin.
